Ginger Dunne named new principal at Mt. George Elementary School

Ginger DunneNVUSD announced last week that Ginger Dunne has been appointed the new principal of Mt.George Elementary School, effective July 1, 2019.  Dunne has 23 years of teaching experience within NVUSD, teaching multiple grade levels at Alta Heights Elementary School. In addition to her wide breadth of classroom experience, Dunne has served in a number of leadership roles at Alta Heights, including School Site Council, Family Faculty Club liaison, and NVEA Site Representative. On a district level, she has extensive experience working with the Napa Valley Education Association and the District Negotiations Council and has a keen understanding of both the collective bargaining and the interest based problem solving processes. Additionally, she has served as both the Academic and Campus Coordinator for the Aim High Summer Program for the past several years. Her experience inside and outside of the classroom will serve the Mt. George community well.

“Ginger is a seasoned and accomplished classroom teacher, with extensive leadership experience, which will all transfer seamlessly into her new role as principal. Not only is she familiar with NVUSD but her ties go beyond the classroom, bringing a unique perspective that will support and inspire the students, families, faculty and staff at Mt. George,” said Dana Page, NVUSD Interim Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources.

“We welcome Ginger to the NVUSD leadership team, and we know that she will work very hard on behalf of the students, staff and families of the Mt. George community,” said Dr. Rosanna Mucetti, NVUSD Superintendent.

“I am thrilled about the opportunity to serve as the principal at Mt. George Elementary,” shared Ms. Dunne. Ms. Dunne will begin her assignment on July 1st and looks forward to working closely with staff and parents to launch an amazing new school year for Mt. George students.
